The Costume Studio was formed in 2006 by Denise Hosty after a gap in the market opened up making theatrical and operatic costumes. The Costume Studio serviced the costuming for Auckland Theatre Company, New Zealand Opera and many others.

However, over the last 3 years we have grown and developed into something much bigger and better. As well as costumes for the stage, The Costume Studio now produces some of the more weird and wonderful costumes and mascots you may have seen in ad campaigns, on TV commercials, on the sports field or in magazines.

Highlights for 2008 include making 45 squirrel mascots for the Cadburys Moro Gold TV commercial, creating the new Popsicle band for Tip Top ice cream, developing Monzee for Magic Netball and introducing a brand new character for Aucklands Starship hospital.

With clients including New Zealand Rugby, Air New Zealand, Lollipops Playland, Kidney Kids, Child Cancer, Cadburys and Burger Fuel. The Costume Studio is more than capable of handling your requirements, large or small.

Originally from the North of England, Denise came to New Zealand in 1999 after working for many years in London's West End theatre wardrobe departments. In an attempt to find a better work life balance, Denise opted for a quieter life on the other side of the world. However, The Costume Studio is far from quiet.....Life on Auckland's North Shore has never been more colourful or creative!

With more than 22 years experience spanning across the world, Denise Hosty has created an award winning company. In August 2008, The Costume Studio Ltd were the proud winners of 'The Best New Start Up Business' in the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
